Tom has more than 25 years of experience working with a range of clients from individual homeowners to small businesses to corporations, based in Northern California. Prior to his own practice, he developed valuable insights and expertise in a number of architect offices and on joint collaborations with builders of different trades. Tom earned his B.Arch. from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
In his spare time, he enjoys rescuing and restoring vintage racing bicycles, and riding them over hills and dales near and far.
We strongly believe that good design is a result of collaborations between the owner, the architect, the consultants and the builder.
Our experience, knowledge, and our common sense approach to problem solving can help guide you in reaching your project’s goals and objectives. We strive for a balance between your needs, desires, and the realities of the ever-increasing complicated entitlement process, the ever more stringent building codes compliances, and your finite budget and schedule.
His diverse approach includes spending time researching the projects background along with interviewing the client and listening to different team members to better understand their visual and spatial needs, and to establish the design's focus and parameters long before the pencil touches paper.
Since Tom greatly values informed and educated clients, he always does his best to be upfront and timely in answering questions about the design process, the scheduling, and the costs. It is important have realistic expectations for the project.
